Why Towed Battery Charger +?

Edited

Q. Why do I need the Towed Battery Charger +?

A. There are not many things worse than a dead towed battery. Many towed vehicles today have a large current draw on the battery when towing. The Towed Battery Charger + will prevent unseen parasitic loss on your towed vehicle's battery, while providing real-time battery data on your Command Center. It is a great peace of mind product when towing. No more need for charge lines with zero feedback.

Q. If I own an RVibrake is a Towed Battery Charger required?

A. No. All models of RVibrake are extremely power friendly. The max amp draw of RVibrake is 8 amps when the compressor runs, which is only a few minutes cumulatively per day. Most of the time, it's running even lower than that. For a frame of reference, your brake lights pull 4 amps. However, if you'd like the ability to monitor your towed battery's performance on the same display as your RVibrake3, the TBC + is a great option.

It's important to note that TBC+ doesn't supplement or generate any charge on its own - the charge it's pulling is whatever is present at your 6 or 7 pin connector. This means that some vehicles with an extremely high draw may need a higher amperage charger than TBC+ (one such vehicle is the Chevy Equinox from 2018-present).
